Weight Training Log

The Weight Training Log is one of many free, personal logs available to members of i-Goals. This log allows you to track statistics associated with your weight training workouts. The list of available logs at i-Goals is growing, and suggestions are always welcome. Currently, we offer the following free, personal logs to our members:
Weight Training Log Page

Your weight training log page provides you with a single location to manage this log. When you navigate to the page, you will find:
  • A calendar showing entries from all your logs,
  • A table of your weight training log entries (workouts),
  • A table of your individual sets for a given workout, and
  • A graph of your weight training statistics.
Calendar

A calendar is provided to show you, at a glance, all of your weight training log entries, in addition to all of your entries from your other logs, for the current month. Your weight training log entries are colour coded differently than your entries from your other logs, and are not seen by other members. Clicking on a log entry on your calendar will show you the details of that entry. This calendar is a smaller version, with slightly less information displayed, than the large calendar displayed on the main logs page. The sample calendar shown below displays one log entry from each of several different logs offered by i-Goals.

Table of Workouts

All of your weight training log entries (workouts) are displayed in two tables below the calendar. The first table displays the general information of each workout. The second table displays all the sets of whichever workout you select in the first table. This first table allows you to:
  • Select which workout sets to display in the second table,
  • Add a set to a workout,
  • Edit the general information of a workout,
  • Copy a workout, including all of its sets, and
  • Delete a workout.

In addition, you can search and sort the table of log entries, as a whole. A sample of the first table is shown below.

  • Edit an individual set,
  • Copy a set, and
  • Delete a set.

Graph

Your weight training log page also provides you with a graph of your statistics, for the exercise you select. A sample graph is shown below. Currently, the graph will plot the following statistics as either a stick/bar graph or a line graph:
  • One Rep Max (kg) / Workout
  • One Rep Max (lbs) / Workout

Making a Log Entry

An entry is made to your log in two easy steps. First, fill-in the general information for a workout, using the form found on your weight training log page. The form provides fields for general information about your workout. Only a few pieces of information are required, such as: date, time, and duration. Other information is optional, so you can be as detailed, or as vague, as you want to be. A sample of this form is shown below.

After the general information for a workout has been entered, click the "Add Set" button, for that workout, to enter the information for a set you performed. A sample of the form, for an individual set, is shown below. This form includes a link to the ExRx.net Exercise & Muscle Directory. There you will find useful descriptions of exercises and muscles. If you want to see the exercise & muscle directory now, just click on the button below to open the directory in a separate browser window.
