Heart Rate Training Zone
Your training heart rate zone is a critical element in exercise.  You may use an electronic heart rate monitor or check your pulse manually during your workout to ensure you are working at the desired intensity.

As a general rule, you should exercise at an intensity between 50% - 85% of your heart rate reserve.  This calculator will estimate your upper, lower and median training heart rate based upon your age.

Beginners should work out at the Lower Training Heart Rate, those with an average fitness level at the Average Training Heart Rate, and those with a high level of fitness at the Upper Training Heart Rate.
