NOTE: Typical quantities of alcohol are 1 pint* of beer (16 ounces or 500 ml), 1
bottle* of beer (12 ounces or 341 ml), 1 glass** of wine (5 ounces or 148 ml), 1
bar shot (1.5 ounces or 44 ml). Typical alcohol content for various drinks are beer (5%), wine (12%), liquor
(40%), but these vary widely. In the U.S.
and Canada all alcohol producers are required by law to print the volume and alcohol
content on the bottle.
* U.S. and Canadian quantities for a "pint" and a "bottle" are different.
** Many wine glasses hold much more than 5 ounces.
