| Running Performance Predictor |
This calculator estimates your running time and pace for any distance given any
other actual run's distance and time. The calcuator uses Pete Riegal's model,
and appears in his article "Althletic Records and Human Endurance," in American
Scientist, May-June 1981.
To aid in data entry the contemporary half-marathon
distance is 21.0975 km (13.11 miles), and full martaon is 42.195 km (26.22 miles).
NOTE: Like any model, the estimate isn't perfect. In general, the calculator
works much better at estimating longer distances, and distances that are relatively close to each other.
Ex.: The estimate for your 10 km time will be more accurate if you enter your 5 km time instead of your 400 m time.

| Instructions |
Input your run time broken down into hours, minutes, seconds, and hundredths of
seconds. You MUST enter no more than two digits in each Time text box, but
you may leave those text boxes blank that don't apply for your run (e.g. hours for
500 meters). Input the distance of your actual run and select the appropriate
units; meters, km, yards, or miles.
Next input a value for the run distance you want to estimate and select the appropriate
units for that run.
Click the calculate button. The estimated run time and pace will be displayed below.
NOTE: Estimated Pace will be provided in km/h if your entered run is in meters or km, and
in mph if your entered run is in yards or miles.
